Projects

Here are a couple of projects I am working on when time permits:

Game Boy Game

github.com/miscellus/gameboy-game.

My yet-to-be-titled platform game for the original Nintendo Game Boy, written in the Z80-esque assembly language native to the Game Boy CPU. A nostalgic project that has compounded my admiration for the creators of the games I used to play from the back seat of my parents' Škoda, the faint reflective LCD only sporadically illuminated by the street lights gliding by outside. I love that the limited instruction set of the Sharp LR35902 makes every little paragraph of assembly code a small puzzle to solve.

Juelsminde Joust

github.com/miscellus/Juelsminde-Joust.

This is a simple local multiplayer game where players shoot projectiles by bumping into walls and other players. I created the game over a few days in a summer house in Juelsminde.

Here I'm playing with Jørn and Patrick at the office, and getting my butt kicked. Had it at least been me filming, I would have had an excuse, but it was Jørn holding the camera while playing.

Muto Locus

A small, needlessly bloody, platform game made for the 37th Ludum Dare game jam in collaboration with Signe Grau.

The jam theme was, One Room, which inspired us to have one level morph into the next as you progress through the game.

Try it out on itch.io.

Tutti

github.com/miscellus/Tutti.

Tutti is a music generation library written in C99 that lets you have fun with sound synthesis and composition. The library generates PCM wave audio files. To test it out, I have created a crude rendition of Dr. Dre’s 2001 hit, Still D.R.E. Take a listen for yourself if you dare:

Oh, and it drives my wife nuts when I work on it without headphones.
